Counsellor Directory

This innovative membership service serves to promote business information about your counselling practice, specialized services and skills as well as the ability to upload a profile picture and business logo. With futurist trends heading towards a generation that seeks information online as well as a specific set of skills, knowledge and experience, the CPCA believes this directory will provide a competitive edge for marketing our member's counselling services across Canada to the public, insurance providers, EAP contractors and government for verification of your legitimacy. All members who are in "good standing" will be approved to list their contact information in the directory on an annual basis. It allows our members to login to their directory listing once it has been approved and make any changes to their contact information.

Description

I provide counselling to individuals and couples from a range of communities and experiences. Much of my work focuses on communication, relationships, self esteem, and the significant milestones and transitions we experience throughout our lives. Some of my practice focuses on supporting clients who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, and those who have questions about their sexual identity. My counselling process is a collaborative one, with the therapist and the client establishing the issues to be explored together, and working together to establish goals. We work to achieve an understanding of the formation and structure of your daily life. We then try to understand the composition of what works for you and what is problematic. This understanding can give way to lasting positive change. My approach to counselling is an integrative one, which combines a number of therapy styles, this allows the therapist flexibility in how they might approach the unique task of working with each client, and the client the opportunity to benefit from multiple counselling theories.
